It has been a crazy week for us around here, first my Mom was put in the hospital again with severe pneumonia last monday and has yet to be released, hoping today they will release her. She has copd and this is the fourth time this year she has been diagnosed with pneumonia, it is really heartbreaking when you watch a loved one struggle to breathe, she is on oxygen 24 hours a day now even while she sleeps, she can’t do much but sit because the slightest activity completely takes her breath away. I think that struggling every moment of the day to get some air must be torture, I suffer from allergies and sometimes when they are active it effects my breathing greatly, but I cannot imagine how much agony it must be for my Mom to struggle just to get air each moment of the day. My mom is great and it scares me so much each time she is hospitalized that this might be the time she can’t fight to beat it. Coupled with the worry about my Mom and her recovery, my husband was in an accident night before last, hit by another driver who ran a light. He is in alot of pain but I am so happy he is not in serious or fatal condition. He will have to have surgery on his left wrist and hand and his right leg. Today we have to schedule a follow up with his regular doctor so we can get a referal for the orthopedic surgeon. It really breaks my heart to see how much pain he is in. The impact left bruising on his ribs, back and chest and he is sore from head to toe. I can’t believe how this woman’s impatience to wait for the next green light has impacted our lives right now. He will not be able to go back to work right away, he was working in fact and in the company vehicle at the time of the accident. At the scene she admitted it was her fault…however I would have felt alot better if she would have actually taken the time to apologize for her actions. Is that too much to ask? In 2000 he was hit by a drunk driver who fled the scene, his car rolled and caught on fire, he was unable to get to out of the vehicle and with the help of some good samaritans he got out before he was burned. At her prelimary hearing, we found out it was her fourth Dui, she was 37 at the time and her father just wanted to know how much it would cost to get her out and her car out of impound. She showed no signs of remorse and even smiled and smirk while the judge was dressing her down. She wasn’t concerned that she hurt someone or could face serious time (she didn’t btw, father hired her a lawyer who got her probation and community service.. for her 4th Dui.. ) she knew no matter what happened her father would bail her out. I said that to say this.. how can you hurt another person and cause them pain and not at least tell them you are sorry about it. I guess maybe because they are not sorry they caused the pain but rather sorry they were caught..just my two cents.
